A relaxed, fun introduction to traditional archery with expert coaching, games, and plenty of shooting.

For those who’d like to have a go at traditional archery.

A relaxed session with less history and chat than our 2-hour experience, and more time focused on shooting, fun, and learning with our English Longbows and Mongolian Horsebows.

After a short introduction from a qualified Archery GB coach and a simple health & safety briefing, we’ll get straight into shooting. Once everyone feels comfortable (which usually doesn’t take long), we move on to a range of fun, imaginative games. By the end of the session, you’ll have shot plenty of arrows and built real confidence.

You’ll receive guidance throughout, with friendly coaching and games designed to be both enjoyable and inclusive.

We have beautiful bows suitable for all physiques, with draw weights appropriate for ages 8 and up.

We’re based in the 4 acres of gardens at The Gaggle of Geese, Buckland Newton, Dorset DT2 7BS — just 15 minutes from Dorchester and Sherborne. Set within the grounds of this award-winning pub, campsite, and wedding venue, it’s the perfect place to combine archery with a meal and make your day extra memorable.
